“A Redruth-based charity has been handed a cash windfall of more than £50,000 from the BBC’s Children In Need appeal”

White Gold Cornwall Community Interest Company (CIC) offers one-to-one mentoring for young people with emotional or behavioural difficulties who may find themselves out of education or training.

The charity has been awarded a grant of £53,131 from the national Children In Need appeal.

Alan Milliner, MBE, managing director of White Gold Cornwall CIC, said “White Gold Cornwall recognises the ever-increasing demands on all potential funding opportunities to support organisations such as ourselves.

“White Gold looks to help children all across Cornwall.  This BBC Children In Need grant is greatly appreciated and maintains support for some of the most vulnerable young people in the county of Cornwall.  On behalf of these young people, thank you.”

The grants are the first of many that will take place across the year and were made possible following the appeal night in November when a record £31.1 million was raised.
