Male Sessional Workers Needed (August 2020)
We are looking for self-employed sessional male workers to work with and support young people and adults who are vulnerable, lack confidence and self-esteem or present challenging behaviour in the East of Cornwall. The young people we support may be presenting difficulties within the family, school and wider community and may be involved with the Criminal Justice system.
The requirement for a male worker is due to recent referrals seeking male support workers due to the nature of the young people’s circumstances (male needing a male worker).
Our engagement workers work on a 1:1 basis generally within the community. We often work in partnership with other organisations.
Engagement Workers will be good communicators and demonstrate an ability to work 1:1 with vulnerable and challenging young people to set personal objectives.
Previous experience of working in this field would be beneficial though not essential and we place greater emphasis on interpersonal skills than qualifications. Training will be provided including safeguarding and first aid.
You must have use of a car with full driving licence and business insurance. An enhanced DBS check will be carried out.
